little lucas....

I can honestly say that as a mother, I must have one of the funniest kids in the world. Dave, Eleanor and I are all constantly laughing at Lucas and the funny things he says, does, or just his mannerisms. He's hysterical. He finally decided to give the big boy bike a shot with the training wheels and he loves it. He felt like he needed to be padded up good so he wears a helmet, elbow pads and knee pads. Probably a good thing, because he still falls even though he has training wheels.

our sweet eleanor

Ohhhh Eleanor! I just felt like I needed to say a few words about our little drama girl. She is 5 going on 16 and the thought of her actually being 16 scares me to death!! But I must say, she is a super fun little girl and we couldn't imagine life without her sweet spirit!

Friday night Dale came home from work and said we needed a day trip too the beach. I didn't know he was meaning the very next day! Sometimes this is how Dale works, last minute. I told him I had way too much school stuff I had to do along with any other excuse I could think of. He gave me that face that I cannot resist so I gave in. The day at Pismo was great! It was very relaxing and peaceful. We always enjoy a day at the beach!

Britton and Rebecca are always up for a day trip to the beach! Even if it is SUPER windy!

Splash Cafe

Everytime our family goes to Pismo we HAVE to eat at the famous "Splash Cafe!" We think they have the best clam chowder up and down the California Coast! I don't know maybe we're just obsessed with Splash Cafe itself. What does it matter, we LOVE it!!

love their fish-n-chips!

Bubbles!

We discovered today that Max is very intrigued by bubbles! He loved eating them, chasing them, popping them.....it was very funny. As you can see in the one shot, Elsa could care less as she tried to hurry and eat all the food before Max could try to get any.

Day Trip to the Lake

We decided to take a drive up to Lake Kaweah. It's just about 15 miles east of Visalia and a little further up the road is Three Rivers, then a bit more is the Sequoia National Park. That day we stopped our journey at Three Rivers. First, a stop at Reimer's Candy Store. The kids eyes were so big at the site of all that candy!

the river is really pretty!

the kids had a blast climbing rocks and kicking up dirt

...and finally Lake Kaweah. It's pretty full, but no rain thus far in March so it's not as full as it should be!

Ahhhhh so nice

Having Eleanor know how to read now is so great. Not only am I so proud of her, but it's so great because now she can read to Lucas and I can have a break of just a few motherly duties!

Congratulations Dave!

Some of you know, some of you might not know, that Dave recently finished the MBA Program at Fresno State. He actually finished last year, but his Diploma just came in the mail a couple of weeks ago. I am so proud of him! He would work a full day, come home and about 3 days of the week he would drive up to Fresno for a study group, then every Saturday for the entire program he would go to classes from 8-5. He is amazing and he never complained....in fact, I did all of the complaining! We are so happy it's over and are soooo proud of Dave!

Happy Birthday, Britt!

Big fifteen!!!

Birthday gift!

The new Sony Ericson Slide phone!!! What a "cool" phone for a boy who just turned "fifteen" and who will be getting his driving permit in a few months and will be driving with a LICENCE next year, and who is a freshman in High School and who will be graduating in a few years and who will be leaving our home to go on a mission then college and then what! Yes, today was Britton's birthday. Wow! how life passes you by. I couldn't be more proud. We loved the phone so much that I got one for Rebecca and put it away till her birthday in June! She's chomping at the bit!!

Rebecca and Jaselle

Peach Blossom Festival

Today was Rebecca's big day at the Peach Blossom Festival. For any of you who do not know what that is... it's a poetry reading festival held at Fresno State. Kids from all over the valley recite poetry at their elementary school and are judged. Depending on the score they receive they can have the opportunity to recite at the Peach Blossom Festival in front of other judges. Well, this being Rebecca's very LAST year of elementary school, her very best friend, Jaselle, talked Rebecca into doing it with her. She agreed and they did awesome!! We don't know their scores as of yet because we left early. It was a very proud mommy moment!
